Ember does less than most software of its kind. This page describes exactly what, verified against the app itself rather than written to sound reassuring.

Never leaves the Mac

Your clipboard history, in full. It has no route on the server, no table in the database, and no code path that uploads it. Anything a password manager marks concealed is never read at all.

Only with an account

• Email address and a hashed password.
• Palettes — only if you share them.
• Projects, and the image files inside them — only while signed in.

No analytics, no telemetry

There is no third-party SDK in the app, no crash reporting. The one thing recorded about an upgrade is which feature prompted it, carried on a link you clicked, attached to a purchase that already happened. Nothing is recorded about anyone who doesn't buy.

Who the app talks to

• The sync worker on Cloudflare — only when signed in.
• Paddle, at checkout.
• The update feed.
• Any URL you type into Import, yourself.

Sub-processors

• Cloudflare — hosting, database, file storage.
• Paddle — merchant of record, holds billing data. Ember never sees a card.

Retention and deletion
