What Ember will ask permission for

Screen Recording — required

Needed for the picker itself, to read the pixel under your cursor. Asked once, on first pick.

Accessibility — optional

Only if you want paste-on-use, so a picked colour is typed into the field under your cursor automatically. Skip it and copy the colour manually instead.

First launch shows a Gatekeeper warning

Apple Developer enrolment for notarised builds is in progress. Until it completes, macOS will warn that Ember is from an unidentified developer. This is expected — here's how to open it anyway:

  1. Move Ember to your Applications folder.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) the app icon and choose Open.
  3. Click Open again in the dialog that appears.

This step goes away once signing is live — you'll only need it for this first release.
